At the Adravida Air Base in Greece, the Italian Air Force is currently participating in NATO Allied Air Command’s largest training event, the exercise Ramstein Flag 24.
The Aeronautica Militare is deploying its personnel and 5th generation Lockheed Martin F-35 multirole aircraft, an MQ-9A Predator, a Boeing KC-767A, an Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (Conformal Airborne Early Warning), all operating from their respective home bases, and Eurofighter Typhoons jets temporarily deployed in Greece.
The Ramstein Flag 24, which started on September 30 and will conclude on October 11, is a tactical air defense exercise designed to enhance the tactical decision-making capabilities of NATO’s joint forces in a complex and dynamic operational environment. With over 140 aircraft from 13 NATO countries, including F-35s, Rafales, and F-16Vs, this exercise also aims to strengthen cooperation and interoperability among allied forces.
