Busy Sunday for U.S. assets in Libya

Last night, a Northrop Grumman Q-4C (reg. 169660) of the US Navy took off from NAS Sigonella to carry out a surveillance mission off the Libyan coast. After flying off Tripoli, the drone moved eastward into the Gulf of Sirte, where it remains as of 3:00 PM CEST.

In the eastern part of Libya, in Benghazi, two U.S. aircraft landed. The first is a Dash 8 from the Department of State (reg. N563AW), arriving from Tunis (via Tripoli).

The second is a Dornier C-146A (reg. 12-3047) of the USAF Special Operations Command, which also landed in Benghazi, coming from Stuttgart.
