Ramstein Flag kick off

This afternoon we’ve tracked different military aircraft participating in NATO’s “Ramstein Flag 2024” exercise, currently taking place in Greece. This exercise is one of NATO’s largest ever, involving over 130 aircraft from 13 nations, including Greece, the United States, France, Italy, and Sweden.

On the map, we can identify several military aircraft involved in the exercise, such as:

The goal of the exercise is to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the air forces of NATO members, focusing on current and future threats. During Ramstein Flag, pilots execute simulated air combat and joint operations, boosting NATO’s deterrence capabilities. The event, hosted by the Hellenic Air Force at Andravida Air Base, will run until October 10, 2024.

An interesting point is the absence of Turkey, which withdrew from the exercise due to ongoing disputes with Greece over airspace and control of the Athens FIR.
