The Italian National Aerobatic Team, the Frecce Tricolori, is returning to Italy after a long summer tour in Canada and the United States.

The journey is being made in stages, and today’s stage involves a stop in Iceland. Along the route that the MB.339PAN aircraft must take, an Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62279) is monitoring the flight.

This aircraft is capable of providing assistance in case of emergency, such as if a crew needs to eject over open water, offering the necessary support.

The upcoming stages will see the Frecce Tricolori cross the North Sea to the United Kingdom and then, finally, make their last leg to Rivolto Air Base.
