The missions of the Turkish Navy ATR P-72MPA in the central Mediterranean are rare, but recently we have been recording several.

The latest occurred this morning when around 08:00 CEST an ATR-72MPA (reg. TCB-755 – c/s TURNA01) left Damalan heading south.

The aircraft carried out a mission lasting approximately seven hours, reaching the southern Ionian Sea before returning to its base. As in the past, the Turkish ATR entered the Greek FIR but avoided entering Greek airspace.

It is also noteworthy that the aircraft avoided entering the Libyan FIR.
