Turkish Navy ATR P-72MPA Conducts Rare Long-Distance Mission in Central Mediterranean”

Today, we tracked a long mission of a Turkish Navy ATR P-72MPA (reg. TCB-753 – c/s MARTI50).

The aircraft took off from the Dalaman base at 07:07 CEST, heading towards the central Mediterranean. The ATR flew past the island of Crete and then performed a series of maneuvers southwest of the Peloponnese before returning to the Turkish base around 14:45.

It is worth noting that such missions are quite rare (we have tracked them in the past perhaps once or twice), and during its mission, although it entered the Athens FIR, the Turkish aircraft never penetrated Greek airspace.
