New week, new missions

A new week has begun, and this morning we have already tracked several missions.

  • A USN Boeing P-8A departed from NAS Sigonella and is currently operating over the Danube Delta, conducting a SIGINT mission to monitor Russian activity in the central-western Black Sea area.
  • On the other hand, a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (registration 10-2045 – callsign FORTE10) is returning to NAS Sigonella after conducting a surveillance mission over the eastern Mediterranean. This mission was part of monitoring Russian activities in Syria, as well as overseeing military activities in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
  • Meanwhile, a USN Lockheed EP-3E (registration 156529) is orbiting off the coast of Tripoli, carrying out a mission that has become quite common in recent times.
  • Lastly, we have also tracked a Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB 145 AEW&C (registration 374 – callsign OURANOS 11). The aircraft has orbited over the central Mediterranean at the borders of the Greek FIR. It is likely that it has conducted a mission as part of Operation IRINI, although it cannot be ruled out that it has carried out a mission within the NATO “Sea Guardian” framework.
