HMS Audacious left Limassol

The Royal Navy nuclear submarine HMS Audacious (S122) left the port of Limassol, Cyprus, yesterday after a 39-day stop.

The submarine entered the Mediterranean on 21 April and has since conducted several patrols in the central and eastern Mediterranean.

However, the HMS Audacious has suffered from several technical problems and has spent a total of more than three months out of service due to maintenance activities.

These interventions were also necessary because the boat’s rotation in the Mediterranean is taking longer than expected because the submarine that was to replace it, the HMS Triumph delayed return to service
