New Poseidon Black Sea patrol mission

This morning a USN Boeing P-8A has departed around 11:00 CEST from NAS Sigonella over the Black Sea.

After a long suspension (since the beginning of the war in Ukraine), in the last few days we have recorded several new Poseidons missions off the Bulgarian and Romanian coast (the first one was on 12 April).

Most probably they are monitoring the situation in the Black Sea in front of Odesa to understand the intentions of the Russian fleet regarding a possible landing near the Ukrainian city (which today, after the sinking of the Mockva and the retreat towards the open sea of the Russian fleet seems less imminent than a few days ago).
