Dual carrier operations between Truman and Charles de Gaulle

A few days ago we saw that NATO’s two CSGs in the Mediterranean (USS Truman and FS Charles de Gaulle) were located in the northern Aegean and Ionian Seas respectively.

From what was published on various social media yesterday, the two aircraft carriers operated a series of joint exercises with French Dassault Rafale aircraft landing on the USS Truman (CVN-75) and USNavy F/A-18E aircraft landing on the Charles de Gaulle (R91).

A tweet from the Truman’s official account shows how the two ships sailed together in the Ionian Sea.

This is further confirmed by the pair of USNavy Grumman C-2s that landed this afternoon at Sigonella and seem to have taken off somewhere in the southern Ionian Sea.
We can therefore say that the two CSGs are currently sailing in the Ionian Sea.
