RAF C-17 in Misrata

Yesterday at 18:13 CEST a Royal Air Force Boeing C-17A (re. ZZ174 – callsign RRR6386) left RAF Brize Norton southbound.

At 20:59 the aircraft, flying north of Tripoli southbound, switched off its ADS-B transponder entering into Tripoli FIR.

After less then 3 hours the aircraft reappeared at 23:21 in the same area flying, this time, northbound (it landed in Brize Norton at 02:34 CEST).

Looking at the route and the altitude we can imagine that the plane landed in Misrata where it seems to have remained parked for about two hours.

We’ve tracked a similar mission on March 18. The nature of these missions remains unknown.
