Today, a Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint of the Royal Air Force (RAF) conducted a surveillance mission over the Black Sea. The aircraft, registered as ZZ666, operated in international airspace off the Romanian coast, performing a series of strategic orbits for intelligence gathering.

The Boeing RC-135W is a specialized electronic surveillance aircraft designed to intercept communication signals and monitor hostile military activities. Its presence over the Black Sea reaffirms NATO’s ongoing commitment to monitoring Russian operations in the region, with a particular focus on occupied Crimea and the naval forces stationed in the area.

The aircraft departed from RAF Waddington and carried out multiple parallel orbits along the coastline over the Black Sea, a typical strategy for electronic intelligence missions aimed at collecting strategic data.
