An Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62228) is currently flying from Eilat, Israel, to Pratica di Mare Air Base. It is possible that it has operated in support of the Multinational Force & Observers (M.F.O.) mission.
The M.F.O. is an international peacekeeping organization established under the Camp David Peace Accords of September 17, 1978, to maintain peace between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel. The M.F.O. was deployed to the Sinai Peninsula on April 25, 1982, and has since been responsible for monitoring the border zone between Egypt and Israel, from the Mediterranean to Sharm El Sheikh in the Strait of Tiran.
The 12 participating countries (Australia, Canada, Colombia, Fiji, France, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Uruguay, the United States, and Italy) contribute to the mission with their own contingents, aiming to “observe,” “verify,” and “report” any violations of the Peace Treaty.

Italy participates in the mission with a military contingent, also known as the Coastal Patrol Unit (CPU), tasked with ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Tiran, which connects the Gulf of Aqaba to the Red Sea, and the adjacent areas of the strait.
This mission is carried out with three Esploratore-class coastal patrol vessels, permanently assigned to the Sinai contingent as part of the 10th Coastal Naval Group (COMGRUPNAVCOST 10).
