Eventful Morning Over the Tyrrhenian Sea

The Tyrrhenian Sea saw significant activity this morning. In the southern Tyrrhenian, a NATO Boeing E-3A (reg. LX-N90445) departed from Preveza AB conducted an orbiting mission north of Sicily, while the carrier strike group (CSG) of the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle transited southward through the Strait of Messina.

Further north, in the central Tyrrhenian, a US Navy Boeing P-8A, departed from NAS Sigonella, performed a low-altitude mission off the coast of Lazio.

This unusual mission could potentially be part of a training activity, though no confirmation of this has been received at this time.
