Two Turkish Air Force Lockheed C-130E Hercules aircraft (reg. 68-01608 and 68-01609, c/s TUAF855 and TUAF857) are currently in flight from Libya (Misurata and Al Waydia AB) to Turkey.
Both aircraft are avoiding Greek airspace during their journey.

C-130 Hercules aircraft are primarily used for military transport and logistical operations.
The presence of Turkish military flights in the Mediterranean reflects Turkey’s role as an influential actor in the region, with strategic interests in Libya, where Turkey has established a military presence to support the Government of National Accord (GNA).

The activity highlighted by this image underscores the dynamism of Turkish military air operations in the Mediterranean, amidst a context of growing geopolitical competition in the region.
