In the late morning, the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) of the USS Harry Truman (CVN-75) entered the Mediterranean Sea through the Strait of Gibraltar.
The American aircraft carrier is accompanied by at least three surface vessels:
- the destroyer USS Stout (DDG55),
- the Italian frigate ITS Carabiniere (F593),
- and the Spanish frigate SPS Méndéz Nunez (F104).

The USS Truman was present in the Mediterranean at the onset of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and since then, American aircraft carriers have been regularly deployed in the region.
The air wing onboard the USS Harry Truman includes the following components:
