Waiting for Truman

This morning, we observed movements of US Navy assets west of Gibraltar. Specifically, a Boeing P-8A and a Grumman C-2A (reg. 162164) both took off from NAS Rota.

The two aircraft are heading west. The P-8A is tracking along the Portuguese coast, flying northwest of Lisbon toward the north, while the Grumman disappeared from tracking sites at the position highlighted above.

The Grumman is flying at a lower altitude than the Poseidon (around 8,000 feet) and is heading toward the aircraft carrier USS Truman, which is currently in the area and expected to enter the Mediterranean in the coming days.
