In recent days, significant attention has been given to reports that the Russian spy ship YANTAR operated between Ireland and the United Kingdom, in a region where critical undersea cables for internet data transmission are located.
Less publicized, however, was a similar operation reported by the Portuguese Navy, which escorted another Russian spy ship, the Kildin, in the Atlantic. This ship has also been active in the Mediterranean in recent months.

Today, we note a mission by a US Navy Boeing P-8A, temporarily deployed to NAS Rota, operating in the Bay of Biscay. The aircraft has been orbiting at an altitude of 10,000 feet over an area off the coasts of Bilbao and Bordeaux.
In the same area, a French military vessel, which departed from Brest a few days ago, is also currently operating.
While it remains unconfirmed, it is possible that one of the two Russian spy ships is now active in this region.
