French Hercules over Tripoli

A French Air Force Lockheed C-130H (reg. 61-PL) that took off from Solenzara AB in Corsica was tracked this morning until 11:45 CEST over western Libya (roughly south of Tripoli). From that point on, as the aircraft was flying level at around 17,000 meters and heading east, the signal was lost.

We don’t have enough data to confirm whether the aircraft was heading specifically towards Libya or simply transiting through Libyan airspace (as has been done by French A330s en route to Central Africa), but it is the first time we have tracked this type of French aircraft over Libya.
