There are at least two assets conducting SIGINT missions in the region this afternoon.

The first is a USN Boeing P-8A that took off from NAS Sigonella and has been orbiting over the Danube Delta. The second is an RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ666) that is orbiting over the western part of the Black Sea in international waters. According to various tracking sites, the Rivet Joint does not have a direct escort.

It’s also noteworthy that a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 09-2039, c/s FORTE11), also departed from NAS Sigonella, is transiting the area, flying towards the Baltic and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.

It has been several days since we last tracked a FORTE mission over the Black Sea.
