The aircraft carrier ITS Cavour (C 550) and the frigate ITS Alpino (F 594) continue their cruise towards the Far East. On June 25th, the two ships arrived at the Changi Naval Base in Singapore. This morning, the two units were sailing about 24 km east of the base, heading east.

The two ships are en route to Darwin, Australia, where they will participate in the Large Force Exercise (LFE) “Pitch Black,” organized by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

This exercise is a preparatory step for achieving the Initial Operational Capability Sea-based of the F-35B aircraft on board.
