At the end of September, the USNavy carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) made a stop in Trieste, where she anchored in the bay for several days.

Since then, the Gaza crisis compelled the aircraft carrier to sail in the Eastern Mediterranean for weeks. Meanwhile, the Pentagon extended her presence in the Mediterranean.

After more than two months, and to provide rest for the crew, the ship arrived yesterday at the Souda Bay base in Crete, where she will stay for a few days.
