A new week begins, and various activities are being reported in the theater of the Mediterranean. A US Navy Lockheed EP-3E (registration 156529) has taken off from Souda Bay Air Base and is currently orbiting the Eastern Mediterranean, conducting a surveillance mission.

A similar type of mission is underway for a USN Boeing P-8A that took off from NAS Sigonella and is now active in Eastern Romania.

A surveillance mission was also carried out by a Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145AEW&C (registration 374 – callsign OURANOS11), which conducted a mission in the Central Mediterranean, likely as part of Operation IRINI. Meanwhile, a maritime patrol mission was performed over the Ionian Sea by a Dornier Do-328 (registration PH-EAE – callsign EAGLE3), operating as a Frontex asset from Lamezia Terme Airport.

Lastly, a French Air Force Airbus A330MRTT (registration F-UJCJ) is utilizing the “Libyan route” to reach a destination in West Central Africa, possibly accompanied by some fighter jets, as indicated by the aerial refueling activity conducted off the coast of Corsica.
