New entry in the Mediterranean theatre

New arrival in the Mediterranean theater this afternoon. A RAF Boeing P-8A (reg. ZP805) departed from RAF Lossiemouth and landed at Sigonella AB around 15:00 CEST.

This is not the first time we have seen a deployment of British Poseidons to Sicily to increase NATO surveillance activities in the area.

This is also considering the fact that Italy does not currently have a fixed-wing aircraft for the counter of underwater threats, after the retirement of the Atlantics.
