MAGMA at work (discreetly)

After a mission carried out over the Black Sea, a NATO Northrop Grumman RQ-4D (reg. MM-AV-SA0015 – c/s MAGMA10) is returning to the Sigonella AB base.

It is interesting to note that almost the entire mission was conducted using the ADS-B transponder. This is not only common during flights over the Black Sea for NATO assets, unlike USAF ones, but also during a portion of the flight over land. The transponder was reactivated only when it was flying east of Thessaloniki, Greece.
