Busies skies over NATO’s eastern flank

Today we mapped out a major NATO engagement on the Alliance’s eastern flank. in particular the northern part is affected by numerous air activity:

  • RAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. ZZ665) flying over Estonia (from where it can easily check what is happening in the St. Petersburg area);
  • USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 64-14846 – c/s JAKE17) flying over the border between Poland and Belarus and now heading towards Romania;
  • Italian Air Force Boeing KC-767A (reg. MM62227) engaged in an AAR mission;
  • USAF McDonnel Douglas KC-10A (reg. 82-0191- c/s NACHO20) engaged in an AAR mission;
  • Swedish Air Force Gulfstream IV Korpen (reg. 102002) engaged in a SIGINT mission on the border between Poland and Belarus;
  • NATO Airbus A330 MRTT (reg. T-058) engaged in an AAR mission over Lithuania
