Another busy morning in the Black Sea theatre. At least three NATO assets are at work:

  • an Italian Air Force Gulfstream E.550 CAEW (reg. MM62303 â€“ callsign PERSEO71) departed from Constanta and orbiting the eastern part of Romania;
  • approximately in the same area, but slightly further east, an USN Lockkheed EP-3E (reg. 159887), departed from Souda Bay AB, is carrying a surveillance mission;
  • departed from NAS Sigonella, an USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – c/s FORTE11)  is orbiting over eastern Romania too.

Since the Reaper shot down by a Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-27, we have tracked only one flight over the Black Sea by a USAF Global Hawk
