NATO’s eyes central Mediterranean Sea

It’s quite normal to see, as is the case this morning, a Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145 AEW&C (reg. 374) orbiting west of Crete.

Much more unusual, if not a first, is the USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 11-2046 – callsign FORTE10) flight that took off tonight from NAS Sigonella: the drone has in fact been orbiting for more than six hours south of Crete.
