Kama and Admiral Gorshkov left Jeddah

Yesterday morning the Russian Navy tanker Kama and the frigate Admiral Gorshkov entered the Saudi port of Jeddah.

After 24 hours the two ships left the Saudi port of call, probably heading for the Suez Canal.

We do not know whether the two ships will make further calls before entering the Mediterranean but we do know that their final destination is the port of Tartus in Syria.

The two ships have been in navigation since early January and have the Syrian port of Tartus in the Mediterranean as their final destination. The Admiral Gorshkov  would be armed with new Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles. This would be the first time Russia has deployed an armed unit with this type of weaponry in the Mediterranean theater.
