This afternoon we’ve tracked a Royal Air Force Lockheed C-130J (reg. ZZH868, f/n RRR5816) operating a flight from RAF Brize Norton to Misrata.

The aircraft has departed from RAF Brize Norton at 12:16 CEST and it has landed in Misrata, Libya, around 17:30 CEST.

The aircraft is now (20.00 CEST) still in Misrata.

Although rare, these types of flights are tracked with some periodicity. On Misrata we have seen both C-130s and C-17As operated by the RAF.

The nature of these flights remains unknown.
