In a tweet published by the British Ministry of Defence on 28 December 2022, it was stated that the UK would provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with three Westland S-61 Sea King helicopters.

The Royal Navy has trained 10 crews of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the Sea King, improving their search and rescue capabilities.

In a tweet posted by Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian Defence Minister, a video is seen of a Sea King in Ukrainian colours engaged in a winch rescue (probably an exercise).

According to the tweet, the three helicopters have been incorporated into the Ukrainian Navy

  • It is very honourable that Countries around the World are supplying Ukraine with Military equipment but… the men and women that receive this equipment will need the proper training to go with the military equipment… A older fighter can still be effective against modern fighters… but it comes down to how well that pilot is trained… During the 2nd World War pilots were needed badly and killed easily against the more skilled German pilots who had been training for a very long time…With todays advanced Russian Fighters they still give Well trained American pilots a run for there money… nothing beats elite training … same for the Leopard Tanks… We all wish Ukraine the strength and courage to fight Putin’s Russia… but the elite Russian forces have not reared there head yet..American Military train very hard to be a elite Force and have been doing this for a very long time.. time… is something Ukraine does not have… unless other Countries get involved in Manpower and then you will have World War 3
