Ionian Sea mission

At 12:00 CET an Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62280 – f/n IAM4104) took off from Sigonella AB.

The aircraft headed for the Ionian Sea where it operated at an altitude of approximately 2,000ft.

The image above shows the last position (12:29 CET) of the aircraft. We do not know whether it switched off the ADS-B transponder or simply lost the signal due to the low altitude.
