At 16.05 CEST an Italian firefighting service Canadair CL-415 (reg. I-DPCN – callsign CAN28) crashed during a mission to fight forest fires in eastern Sicily.

The aircraft reportedly crashed in the municipality of Linguaglossa, at the foot of Mount Etna.
Rescue searches are currently underway. On board the aircraft were the two pilots.

We do not have a complete track of the flight, but from the only available trace it appears that the aircraft left from Lamezia Terme.
