Unusual mission this morning for a USAF Boeing RC-135W (reg. 62-4130 – callsign SAURON64) which took off from Souda Bay AB.

The aircraft first headed for Iraq where it orbited the border over Syria for about 5 hours, then headed back over the Mediterranean where it flew off the Syrian coast.

In this way, it was able to monitor the entire territory of Syria thanks to its sensors.

Now the aircraft is on its way back to Crete.
