After the mission we outlined tonight, we are again this morning recording unusual activity in the south of Sicily.

A USN Boeing P-8A taken off from NAS Sigonella is orbiting at low altitude (3500 feet) south of Malta and, meanwhile, another P-8A, also taken off from Sigonella, is arriving in the area.

The ‘”Mare Aperto” exercise is taking place these days, but it cannot be ruled out that this activity is not related to training but is aimed at monitoring a Russian submarine that may be in the area
