After yesterday’s mission also today a Turkish Navy ATR P-72MPA (reg. TCB-754 – callsign MARTI63) is carrying out (15:00 CEST) a patrol mission over the Central Aegean Sea.

Also today, the aircraft operated within the Athens FIR (flight information region) but outside Greek airspace. During the flight, however, the Turkish ATR flew to within 50 miles of Athens.

The reasons for these missions can be found in the Argo 2022 exercise carried out these days by Greek and French naval units in this very area.
