Aurora searching for?

For some months now, the Royal Canadian Air Force has based a Lockheed CP-140 “Aurora” at Sigonella. The aircraft currently present at the Sicilian airport has registration number 140114.
The aircraft is usually used for patrol missions over the eastern Mediterranean to monitor the presence of the Russian navy in those waters.

In recent days, however, we have tracked two missions over the western Mediterranean. The one on 26 June showed only the track back to Sigonella.
Yesterday, on the other hand, we were able to follow part of the operational mission that took place west of Gibraltar where the aircraft made several orbits before returning to Sicily.

The nature of the mission remains unknown.
