Hawkeye  (and Truman) in the Ionian Sea

Yesterday we wrote about how a Russian Navy cruiser, the Varyag, might find itself in the Ionian Sea.

What is definitely in the Ionian Sea is the American aircraft carrier USS Truman (CVN-75).

We had proof of this last night when at 20:40 CEST the track of a USN Grumman E-2D “Hawkeye ” (reg. 168276) took off from the American unit and orbited the central Ionian Sea.

This is the first time we have tracked this aircraft.
