Technical problem for a USAF Global Hawk

Interesting episode tonight.

At 02:12 CEST, a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 10-2045 – callsign FORTE11), departed from NAS Sigonella, squawked 7600 (lost communications) over Greece.

The drone has continued on its way for about 40 minutes when it aborted its mission and returned towards Sigonella (in the event of loss of communications the Global Hawk automatically returns to base).

However, when it reached the Ionian Sea, at around 06:00 CEST communications between the ground station and the drone have been resumed and the Global Hawk resumed its mission and returned to its area of operations.

It is currently (13:00 CEST) flying over the eastern Black Sea.
