Unusual route for a Russian Antonov

Share

This evening at approximately 22:30 CEST a Russian Air Force Antonov An-124 (reg. RA-82038) landed at the Latakia base in Syria.

The interesting thing is that in order to get to Syria the plane took a route that avoided Turkish airspace. Until now, all Russian military aircraft heading to Syria had flown over Turkey without any problems, which had not banned their passage.

We do not know if this is an exception or if something has changed, but it is a significant fact.
