A weird situation

While a USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (reg. 10-2045 – callsign FORTE10) is carrying out a reconnaissance mission over the Black Sea, a Russian Air Force Tupolev Tu-154 (reg. RA-85843 – f/n RFF201) flying between Moscow and Damscus passed close to it at less than 10 km.


The interesting thing to note, however, is that while NATO reconnaissance flights over the Black Sea avoid Turkish airspace (they have always done so in the past), NATO member Turkey allows Russian military flights to cross its airspace (again, they have always done so in the past).
