USAF Global Hawk unusual mission

Share

This morning an USAF Northrop Grumman RQ-4B (callsign FORTE12) drone has departed from Al Dhafra AB to carry out a reconnaissance mission.

It seemed to be a similar flight to that of the past days when the drone has operated in the Black Sea area.

Surprisingly (but perhaps not so surprisingly), the aircraft is now orbiting the eastern Mediterranean, south of Crete.

Some Russian naval units are active in the area and the Gobal Hawk is evidently monitoring them.
