Two different missions are in progress over the Strait of Sicily this morning:

  • UsNavy Lockheed EP-3E (reg. 15-7325 – f/n DR21) departed Souda Bay AB patrolling off eastern Tunisia (the aircraft made a similar mission in the area different times this week)
  • Italian Air Force ATR P-72A (reg. MM62279 – f/n IAM4101) departed Sigonella AB is in flight southbound to make a patrol mission off western Libya

Probably the two missions are not connected with each other
