Rivet Joint mission off Libya

This morning at 06:36 CEST an USAF Boeing RC-135V “Rivet Joint” (reg. 63-9792 – callsign ICOSA21) departed Souda Bay AB southbound.

The aircraft made an ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance ) mission off Tripoli and Benghazi. The mission is still in progress in these minutes (12:30 CEST).

Usually this type of mission are made by USNavy EP-3E “Aries II” but it’s not the first time that an RC-135 made a similar mission.

This aircraft is arrived yesterday in Souda from the UK.
