Backfires over Mediterranean Sea

New actors made their appearance on the Mediterranean Sea today. The Russian Air Force has deployed some Tupolev Tu-22M3s on Khmeimim AB, Latakia, Syria.

Today one of them (c/s RUAF94157) carried out a patrol mission on the eastern Mediterranean. At the same time, in the same area, an USNavy Boeing P-8A was carrying out a similar mission.
