New MIASIT mission

Today we’ve tracked a new flight of an Italian Air Force Lockheed KC-130J (MM62178) to Misrata, Libya.

The aircraft left Pisa San Giusto AB around 09:50 CEST for Pratica di Mare AB where is landed at 10:24. After less than an half hour the aircraft departed Pratica di Mare AB at 11:15 southbound to Misrata, where it landed at 14:25.

Around 16:30 the aircraft left Misrata for Pisa.

It was a flight with supplies for the Italian military field hospital in Misrata (Missione bilaterale di assistenza e supporto in Libia – MIASIT ). No other Italian aircraft have been tracked in the area.

The Italian medical team consists of 70 doctors and nurses as well as 135 service staffers in all different sections of the hospital.
