New RAF to Libya

Yesterday at 17:45 CET a Royal Air Force Boeing C-17A (re. ZZ173 – callsign RRR6715) left RAF Brize Norton southbound.

Around 19:40 the aircraft, flying north of Tripoli southbound, switched off its ADS-B transponder entering into Tripoli FIR.

After less then 4 hous the aircraft reappeared in the same area flying, this time, northbound (it landed in Brize Norton at 03:21 CET).

Looking at the route and the altitude we can imagine that the plane landed in Misrata where it seems to have remained parked for less than three hours.

We’ve tracked a similar mission on January 21. The nature of these missions remains unknown.
