“JEDI” over Iraq

It is not the first time that we have seen a JEDI flying over Iraq but this time we were able to trace two different missions in a day (the second one almost complete).

The Leonardo EC-27J “Jedi” is based on C-27J and it has been extensively modified to perform Electronic Warfare missions. (for more information you can read the very interesting post published by “The Aviationist”, clicking HERE)

The Italian plane (reg. MM62224 – callsign WOLF2) is landed around 08:00 CET in Baghdad (where it seems to be based also given the past flights) after a mission done somewhere over southern Iraq.

In the afternoon the aircraft left Baghdad northbound at 12:30 CET; after orbiting south of Kirkuk, the plane then continued north, landing apparently in Erbil around 13:30 CET.
