Another hot day over Aegean

Today we’ve tracked an intense military activity over the Aegean Sea.

Between 08:00 and 11:00 CEST a Turkish Navy CN-235MP (callsign TURNA64) departed from Dalaman made a patrol mission into Athens FIR very close to Greek airspace (probably entering into Greek airspace south of the island of Karpanthos)- This type of mission are made usually without the autorisation of Greek ATC.

Menawhile a Greek aircraft made a patrol mission over southern Aegean and south of Greece. The hex code of the aircraft is ascribed to an Hellenic Air Force Alenia C-27J Spartan (4121) although the mission would be more suitable for a maritime patrol aircraft (as Lockheed P-3C)

TOday we’ve tracked also two different surveillance mission made by an Hellenic Air Force Embraer EMB-145 AEW&C (757).

The first one this morning around 10:00 CEST

The second one this afternoon. This time around 19:30 CEST the aircraft is returned to Elfsis AB
