Algerian Air Force Sukhoi Su-30MKA crashed

During the late hours of Monday 27 January 2020, an Algerian Air Force Force Sukhoi Su-30MKA crashed near Oum El Bouaghi (Algeria), killing both crew. The crash site is located in the northeast of the country, around 400km east of the capital Algiers.

It is reported that the Su-30MKA is based at Aïn Beida and operated by the 121e Escadron de Defense Aerienne (EDA)/ 12e Escadre de Defense Aerienne. This airbase is located near the city of Oum El Bouaghi.

The Algerian Air Force has four active duty squadrons operating the Su-30MKA; 121 EDA at Aïn Beida, 122 EDA at Ouargla, 123 EDA at Tamanrasset/Aguenar-Hadj Bey Akhamok and 124 EDA at Reggan.
